MCC Girls played Chippenham CC today in the U13 indoor league, scoring 75/3. Chippenham followed up with exactly the same total and wickets, with the match resulting in an unbelievable draw!
Isobel Yorke led the girls brilliantly once more. This was the best batting and bowling performance yet, with the girls showing wonderful line and length in the bowling, as well as aggressive batting and running between the wickets. We also had another debutant in the team, with Alice Barff playing her first match for the club.
This match is a real testament to how far the girls have come, and to achieve a tie against a very experienced club shows how hard they are working and how well they work together as a team.
As usual, both teams awarded a 'spirit of the match' award to one of the the opponents' players and enjoyed another enjoyable fixture, played in the true spirit of the game. Credit goes to to both teams.
This match concludes the 2025 U13 indoor winter league. The girls should be very proud of themselves and their end stats of 2 wins, 1 loss and a draw. Well done girls and we're now all looking forward to the summer season!
